Wedding rehearsal dinners are a time to relax, calm down and enjoy a quiet evening before the big event the next day. It should also be a fun and memorable time for the bride and groom as well as the guest. Adding games to the rehearsal dinner with add fun and liven the dinner up.  It is a great way to help everyone relax, and to share memories of the couples life together as well as their lives with those present.  For more ideas about your wedding go to http://tinyurl.com/kq3lxo

Even a formal sit-down dinner can have fun games and activities on the menu.  In fact, a formal dinner can be more conducive to some interesting activities.  Games will lighten the dinner and give the wedding party time to relax and enjoy themselves before the hectic day that is coming.

If you are having a sit-down dinner in a restaurant it is better to have a private room for the wedding party.  A private room allows you to play games where you have to move around, such as “pin the veil in the bride”, a game where the participants are blindfolded and spun around a few times, then try to pin the veil on a picture of the bride.  Childish, yes, but also fun.

Charades is another game that will lighten the mood of everyone.  Whoever is up will act out a scene from the life of the bride or the groom.  You will want to make sure there is a mixture of both the bride and the groom friends and family members.  Also try to mix it up with different phases or ages from the bride or grooms life.  Charades also provides a format for members of the wedding party and families to get to know each other better.

If your wedding rehearsal dinner is less formal and held in a home, there are many more activities that can take place.  For example, board games, scavenger hunts, and again charades.  The meal can consist of sandwiches, chips and drinks.  Also the party can go on as long as the host is willing.  You may want to have several different board games and allow members to rotate, making sure to mix it up so that no two tables are ever has the same people.  This way those who do not know each other will have the opportunity to mix it up.

The rehearsal dinner is a time to have fun and forget about the wedding invitations, the wedding gown, the wedding cake, and everything wedding for a short time.  It is a time to reflect and enjoy being with your closest friends before a day that will be hectic and frantic.
